I got a ProPad (www.thepropad.com). It about triples my comfort zone. I did 140 miles yesterday and wasn't really bothered til the last 20 or so.

I got the "Standard" size pad, which is 4 inches shorter than the seat. It's expensive if you get the leather cover.

Funny thing, it's not just the additional cushioning that does the trick. I first positioned the pad at the back of the seat so that my tailbone rested against the pad instead of the seat. But that made little difference.

Now I position it about in the center of the seat so that my tailbone doesn't touch anything. If I want to, I can move to the back for a while, then I can move up, then back. Sometimes I even sit on the passenger pad.

I didn't get the Suzuki gel seat because the parts guy at my dealer said other Savage riders have had mixed results with it, and, of course, I can't return it if I don't like it.

PS. Harco makes a sheepskin cover: www.hartcoseats.com/covers.html.
